Yesterday, PNW legends 'The Melvins' released their latest album entitled "Freak Puke." The Melvins are notorious for mixing up their lineups and they are calling the current lineup of Buzz Osborne, Dale Crover, and Trevor Dunn 'Melvins LITE.'
I have listened to the track, A Growing Disgust, off the new record and it is straight forward rock-n-roll. It has that old school sludge/grunge feel of the late 80s and early 90s PNW grunge scene. If you close your eyes you almost feel like you are at a gig at The Showbox 20 years ago. If the rest of the record is anything like this track I will definitely be picking it up.
The band is also preparing for an epic run of gigs. In September and October they will be attempting to play all 50 states plus D.C. in 51 days. Yes, that is one gig a day in a different state for 51 straight days. That is pretty damn epic, they are beginning their trek in Anchorage on September 5th and your chance to be a part of this world record will be September 6th at the Showbox At The Market.
